iRBY DANCE STUDIO has been offering quality dance training in central Arkansas since 1962. Our trained instructors provide age-appropriate lessons to help develop our students' dance skills. We offer students the opportunity to learn strong technique and fun choreography in an environment that promotes perseverance, self-confidence and discipline. Our Directors

Rochelle Irby

Founder

Ms. Irby started her dance studio for over 50 years ago. She started Irby's Studio of Dance in 1962 with one location, and now there are 4 located throughout central Arkansas. She has taught thousands of kids, and we're proud to have 3-4 generations of Irby Dancers in our dance family. Our beloved Ms. Irby danced her way to heaven  in November 2017.

Tara Colunga

Director/Owner in Searcy 

A native of Searcy, Tara began her dance training under Ms. Irby at the age of 4 and continued through high school both dancing and assisting in classes.  Tara furthered her dance training through classes and intensives at various studios in New York including Broadway Dance Center and Steps.  She enjoyed dancing at conventions such as Tremaine, Jump, & Pulse any chance she got in cities all over the U.S.  She has had the privilege of taking class under many of the best teachers and choreographers in the industry including Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, Tracie Stanfield, and many more.  Tara began teaching for Irby's in 2001 while attending UCA.  During college she taught ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop & contemporary at all 4 Irby locations.  From the beginning of her dance training, it was always a dream of hers to one day have a studio of her own, and in 2006 that dream became a reality when became director of the Searcy location. 

Susan Freedle

Conway & Morrilton

Susan Freedle a native of Conway, began her dance training under Ms. Irby at the age of 3. She obtained a BSE in early childhood education from University of Central Arkansas. She furthered her dance education with intensive from Broadway Dance Center and Step in New York City. She enjoys all genres of dance but her love for Tap exceeds all others.
